Off-Season Rundown Vol. 7 – OurSports Central

Uncasville, Connecticut – Alyssa Thomas and USK Prague lost 83-80 to BC Polkowice on Tuesday, November 15, losing a EuroLeague competition for the first time this season. Thomas finished the tournament with a double-double with 21 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, six steals and a block in the effort.

Jonquel Jones, DeWanna Bonner and CBK Mersin defeated Miskolc 77-58 in a EuroLeague match on Wednesday, November 16. Bonner led CBK Mersin and finished the tournament with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists. Jones hit a double-double with 15 points, 15 rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block in the win. At the end of their game week Bonner, Jones and CBK Mersin defeated the Turkish league opponent Galatasaray with 68:54. Bonner hit a double-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals. Jones added a double-double of his own with 14 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Nia Clouden and Lublin fell to Panathinaikos, 67-59, in their EuroCup competition on Wednesday November 16th. Clouden finished the game with six points, three rebounds and two assists. Later in the week, Clouden and Lublin clinched an 81-59 win over Pruszkow in a Polish League matchup. Clouden had nine points, two rebounds, three assists, a steal and two blocks in the win.

Joyner Holmes and Sassari clinched a EuroCup win over La Roche, 77-65 on Wednesday November 16th. Holmes dominated the win, leading her team with 23 points, 18 rebounds, eight assists and a steal. To conclude the week, Holmes and Sassari defeated Italian League opponents San Giovanni in a close battle 62-61. Holmes again led her team, recording 23 points, seven rebounds, two assists and three steals in the win.

After the holidays, which begin December 1, overseas action will pick up steam again when Jones and Bonner take on Cankaya at 8:00 p.m. EST. On December 4th, Jones, Bonner and CBK Mersin meet Besiktas at 6:30am EST; and Holmes and Sassari play San Martino at 2:30 p.m. EST; Thomas and USK Prague meet Fenerbahce at 11:00am EST; Clouden and Lublin meet Crvena Zvezda at 1:00 p.m. EST; and Holmes and Sassari play ESB Villeneuve on December 7th at 2pm EST. Bonner, Jones and CBK Mersin meet Schio on Dec. 8 at 1:30pm EST. To wrap up the week, Thomas and USK Prague play at KP Brno 9:30pm EST; Clouden and Lublin take on Arka Gdynia at 11:00am EST; and Holmes and Sassari take on Basket Crema on December 10th at 2:30pm EST.
