Shades of jack-o-lantern orange may have shifted to vibrant greens and reds as this mythical Mariah Carey tune sneaks into our ears. But while the lights come on in anticipation of the December holidays, Nutmeggers will have to wait a few more weeks before one of the biggest light shows in the whole country makes their way.

Glow Hartford, promising “holiday festivals designed to bring people together to laugh, walk and play under the twinkle of a million lights,” comes to the Hartford Connecticut Convention Center beginning November 25.

The Jansen family, Canadian farmers who operate Darvonda Nurseries in British Columbia, founded Glow Gardens in Vancouver in 2017 as Christmas Glow. The light show has spread to Canada, USA, Denmark and more including the Harvest Glow and Lumaze light shows.

Glow Hartford runs through January 1, 2023 at the Convention Center with tickets starting at $16.99 for children and $22.99 for adults. The show includes a Christmas market with many opportunities to buy gifts and groceries. There’s also a live entertainment stage, but the main event is the light gardens.

In its inaugural year, Glow Hartford’s theme is “Santa’s Perfect Gift”. It sends participating children on a scavenger hunt to help the elves Jingle, Jangle, Tinsel and Chestnut find the perfect gift while collecting stamps and finding the missing elves along the way.
